Louis Spence is an integrative psychotherapist practicing from Melbourne, Australia.

Louis provides individual psychotherapy to people of all kinds, and has a particular interest in working with LGBTQIA+ people and their families, people in non-normative relationships, workers in the sex industry, and others whose experiences of marginalisation have affected their mental health and access to affirmative treatment.

They have a Masters of Psychotherapy and Counselling, and upon its completion they received the Peter Doherty Prize in Counselling and Psychotherapy, as well as the Dr Margaret Rose Garrett Prize in Family Therapy and the PACFA Outstanding Graduate Award. Louis also holds a Bachelor of Arts, and is PACFA accredited.

Louis is a lecturer at the Ikon Institute and the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors, and is passionate about integrative psychotherapy education.

Their psychotherapeutic education was built upon a framework of Person-Centred Therapy, and they draw on training in Emotion-Focused Therapy, Focusing, Existential Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy among other modalities, depending on the specific needs and goals of each client.

Face-to-face and online sessions are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in Brunswick, Victoria.

All online sessions will be conducted via Zoom. Online session times are based on Melbourne, Australia time zone.

Psychotherapy is not currently covered by the Mental Health Care Plan Medicare rebate. Sessions are covered by some NDIS plans. A limited number of concession places are available upon request.
